Default Improve Assassin's non-elite teleporting skills

Anet wants us to try new assassins builds, cuz it's really a waste to have so many skills and people only use a few. So they nerfed shadow prison.

But assassins cant afford to take it off their bar cuz the non-elite teleporting skills are not worth it. Death's Charge and Dark Prison both have a 45 secs recharge... that's insanly high.
Scorpion Wire isnt any good for surprising enemies, Shadow Walk doesn't let you use IAS.

So my idea is to lower the recharge times on DC and DP to 30 secs, that way assassin's can try new builds.

If that would result on imbalance with non-primary assassins, you are sacrificing assassins to balance other classes, what I think is wrong.

Death's Charge could definitely use a recharge reduction, and Dark Prison could use some tweaking as well, though it'd probably require more than just a reduction of recharge to make it viable without making it ridiculous. Buffs to non-elite shadow steps would be much appreciated, by myself and some other associates of mine, anyway (I won't speak for the entire community).

Assassins do no have Teleporting skills, they have 'shadow stepping skills', only Necromancers have teleporting skills.

Once explained that, is true that many shadow stepping skills have a bit of too much recharge times, for a class that is basically meant to be jumping around all the time.

I dont even use shadow step in pve. recharge is murder. I agree with mithran, an assassin should be able to step often. as it stands we get one good run to one target then we are stuck. Lower the recharges and cost as well i think. Sins have crap for armor and they need to be able to hit and move. Better shadow stepping would make them far more valuable chars. They would be fairly easy to stop mesmers and eles can slow so even if the SS they are still moving slower. if you can hit them. So the Buff wouldnt be over powered. Maybe give the necros a new skill that makes a well stopping SS.

You know, Assassins don't really have anything particularly special about them. Rangers can cause conditions, mesmers can hex and interrupt, and warriors and eles can dish out spike damage. Assassins don't have a specialty that isn't covered by someone else.

Except shadowstepping, which can make them very useful. So I agree whole-heartedly that shadowstepping needs to be better. /signed.

So basically your angry a WTFPWNage skill got nerfed to a "thats a really good skill" skill. So you want anet to make the other shadow stepping skills into WTFPWNage skills without making them elite so you can take a different WTFPWNage Elite with you...... so you can then shadow step to one after another and unleash your 1,2,PWND skills on everyone. If Assassins could shadow step as much as you really want them to then you could jsut change the class from Assassin to Super Major Uber Pwnage class

Oh yeah Assassins are nothing special except they can do the combined work of FOUR professions as you mentioned, yeah nothing big there.

Teleporting is pretty gay concept which is added to the game. The reason Shadow Prison is elite and got nerfed is because it is shadow step skill which has lowest recharge 20s. If other shadow step skill like Death Charge is buffed to 30s recharge, it will be imbalanced and annoying as hell.

I'm not angry cuz shadow prison got nerfed, I never said that. In fact, it doesn't really make a difference if you put Black lotus strike in your build.
I'm just sick of using that build.

really.... shadow steps need buffed.... sins got the short end of the stick on their "specialty" skills... really, dervishes got awsome forms that are strong, rits got cool ass spirits that rock, paragons got some wicked shouts with good synergy, sins got boned....

They are overpowered in RA and AB. In GvG/HA, sins are easy to counter. The game isn't balanced around random PvP.

No other class can kill a single target in under 5 seconds, I find that quite special.

You're totally right. People use SP because of the 20s recharge. Who cares that the enemy moves 66% slower?

On topic, the non elite shadow steps do need a reduced recharge. Most non elite shadow steps are never used. I'd love to see them have a lowered recharge, or some sort of buff.

well, I like the idea of shadow step buff, I think that elite shadow steps like Shadow Meld need a slight one. BUT!!! In repayment for buffed shadow steps, they should make BoA need a 50% of failure if under 4 strength to balance the power.

As Arkantos hinted the reason SP got nerfed wasn't solely because it was a fast recharging shadow step but because it provided a hex and snare along with it. I see no imbalance in giving DC a reduced recharge. Big deal you get health if you have less than your enemy before stepping in.

Uhmm 30s recharge for that skill? So wat's the point of Shadow Prison? It then should change to non-elite skill also? 30 vs 20. 10 vs 5!!! Gee gee! Plus good players does not need to shadow step like that! I play Sin and never use Shadow step skills ever. Not that good! (exp from r9 sin). Siphon speed works wonder! Shadow step is only good if you are playing flag runner or try to kill the target that is out of his/her monk's range!

lol you cant use shadow step to run flags.... you drop items if you shadow step.... also if you are a hit and run sin you NEED shadow step, cause as an ele there is nothing funnier than a sin that cant escape, can you say easy kill lol

That bit right there kinda kills the idea that you're a good assassin, or at the least that you've played it in GvG much.

use return, it recharge fast.
if you want to shadow step only to foes because you think you dont kill faster enough?
i think they are fine.
